French-inspired cuisine comes paired with enchanting views of the Schuylkill River, Cira Centre and 30th Street Station at Center City's Bistro St. Tropez, located on the fourth floor of the Marketplace Design Center on Market Street.
Now, those views come with the option of a year-round dining deal.
Given the popularity of Restaurant Week's value-laden prix-fixe meals, Bistro St. Tropez sees no reason to limit a special degustation menu to twice a year when the classic French eatery can make it available all year round.
So the deal (three courses for $35, excluding tax and gratuity, plus $18 for an optional wine pairing with each course) remains the same, but Chef Patrice Rames has reconfigured the offerings to allow for seasonal flavors and his culinary whimsy.
The current lineup for mid-fall includes a first-course choice of house salad; housemade pate; creamy wild mushroom soup; or smoked bluefish brandade.
As for the main courses, choices range from diver scallops with asparagus, roasted eggplant caviar and grapefruit and lemon fondue to a fire-grilled hanger steak with braised French lentils, spinach, string beans, mushrooms and garlic-herb butter.
Dessert could be something along the lines of chocolate mousse cake with crme anglaise.
